How we review

Written down in advance, so it can be checked against what we publish.

What we examine

Every product we cover is assessed on five things, in this order:

  1. Label transparency. Are per-ingredient amounts disclosed, or hidden inside a proprietary blend?
  2. Dose against the literature. Do the amounts match those used in published research on the same ingredients?
  3. Independent verification. Is there a current third-party certification, confirmed in the certifier’s own directory rather than from a graphic on the box?
  4. Evidence quality. If a study is cited, we apply the checklist in our article on clinical claims: design, size, duration, funding, outcome measured, and whether it was published.
  5. Commercial terms. Subscription defaults, auto-renewal, return window, and how hard cancellation is.

What we do not claim

We are not a laboratory. We do not perform chemical analysis, and we never describe a product as treating, curing or preventing a disease. Where we refer to third-party testing, we are reporting someone else’s result and we say whose.

We do not publish personal testimonials, before-and-after imagery, or invented user quotes. If a page describes an experience, it will say plainly whose experience it was.

How money enters

Some links on this site are affiliate links, disclosed on every page that carries one. The commercial relationship is decided after the assessment, never before, and no company has been given the ability to review, approve or remove anything we publish. See our editorial policy for the full version.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, write to us and we will correct it and mark the correction with a date on the page itself. We do not quietly edit published claims.
